Marist came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Providence Catholic Celtics. This was payback for the RedHawks, who suffered an 11-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Ryan Rosas looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Evan Smith was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmitt Senger, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Marist's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Providence Catholic, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marist will square off against Brookfield Central at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. As for Providence Catholic, they will face off against East Moline United at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Celtics' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
