Basketball Recap: Jack Berry Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Vista PEAK Prep

The third road contest was the charm for Cherokee Trail, as they earned their first road win of the season. They snuck past the Vista PEAK Prep Bison with a 60-54 victory on Thursday.

Cherokee Trail's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Berry led the charge by putting up 13 points. Jordan Mitchell was another key player, posting 11 points.

Several Bison players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Adkins, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Marquilos Mata, who put up nine points and five rebounds.

The win got Cherokee Trail back to even at 6-6. As for Vista PEAK Prep, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-4.

Cherokee Trail will venture away from home to square off against Northfield at 12:00 p.m. on January 18th. As for Vista PEAK Prep, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 103-24 victory against Hinkley on the 11th.
