Preview: Stafford Spartans vs. Bay City Blackcats
The Stafford Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Bay City Blackcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Stafford is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Stafford came up short against Columbia and fell 49-40.
Meanwhile, Bay City didn't have too much trouble with La Marque on the road on Friday as they won 56-39. The win made it back-to-back wins for Bay City.
Stafford's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-14. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.3 points per game. As for Bay City, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season.
Stafford was dealt a bruising 52-24 loss at the hands of Bay City in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bay City's Khylee Perry, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. Now that Stafford knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
