Baseball Game Preview: Auburn Eagles vs. Rappahannock Raiders

The Auburn Eagles will face off against the Rappahannock Raiders at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Auburn will be looking to extend their current 16-game winning streak.

Auburn is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They beat Chilhowie by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 2-1.

Meanwhile, Rappahannock waltzed into their game on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Generals with a sharp 12-2 victory. That's two games straight that the Raiders have won by exactly ten runs.

Auburn pushed their record up to 26-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Rappahannock, their win bumped their record up to 19-3.

Auburn couldn't quite get it done against Rappahannock in their previous matchup back in June of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
