Soccer Game Preview: Milton vs. Escambia

The Milton Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Escambia Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Milton is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Friday, they were much more limited against Gulf Breeze on Monday. They came up short against the Dolphins, falling 7-1. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Jackson Burt, who's now up to eight this season.

Meanwhile, Escambia came up short against Pensacola Catholic on Tuesday and fell 4-2. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Milton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-2. As for Escambia, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5-1.

Milton took their win against Escambia when the teams last played back in November by a conclusive 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Milton since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
