            Volleyball Recap: Rhea County Golden Eagles vs. Walker Valley Mustangs        
        
		
        
        
            After flying high against McMinn County  last Thursday, Rhea County came back down to earth. The Golden Eagles fell just short of the Walker Valley Mustangs by a score of  3-2 on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in October of 2024.
 Rhea County actually scored more points across those five sets (104-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-21, 18-25, 19-25, 25-23,  15-10.

 Despite the loss, Rhea County still got an impressive performance from   Kamryn Swafford, who  had 17  digs and three  assists. Swafford has been hot, having  posted ten or more  digs the last five times she's  played.  Kindale Rumer also deserves some recognition as  she  served her first  ace of the season.
 Walker Valley was led to victory by  Julia Scarbrough and  Isabella Cook.  Scarbrough  had 28  assists and three  digs, while  Cook  had 22 assists. Those  28  assists gave  Scarbrough a new career-high.
With the  loss, Rhea County broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3. As for Walker Valley, their record now sits at 3-8.
 Coming up, Rhea County will face off against Ooltewah at 6:15  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Walker Valley, they are taking a road trip to  face off against East Hamilton  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
