Softball Recap: Eastbrook Panthers vs. South Adams Starfires
Eastbrook extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 12-10 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the South Adams Starfires. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Starfires apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
Mya Peterson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Braelee McNutt was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
As for South Adams, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.
On South Adams' side, Addie Baker made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Baker was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Bekah Patterson was excellent, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Charlee Bollenbacher, who earned one run and three stolen bases.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: South Adams beat Eastbrook by a score of 6-3 later that day.
