Volleyball Recap: Kouts Comes Up Short

If Kouts was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of DeMotte Christian on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs & Fillies fell just short of the Illiana Christian Vikings by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs & Fillies in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost three in a row.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Kouts sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 17-25, 25-16, 24-26, 15-11.

Despite the defeat, Kouts saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Camden Crum had 16 digs and two aces. Those 16 digs set a new season-high mark for Crum.

Kouts' loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Illiana Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-17.

Kouts has already played their next contest (against Crown Point), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Illiana Christian, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Timothy Christian on the 6th.
