Softball Recap: Pymatuning Valley Wins Going Away Against Lakeside

Pymatuning Valley won the last time they faced Lakeside and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lakers put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Lakers, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Mackenzie Kribbs was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, earning two RBI and one run. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on McKenna Jordan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Nataleigh Haines was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Pymatuning Valley's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Lakeside, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pymatuning Valley will take on Lordstown at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.43 runs per game on average), something the Lakers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lakeside, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Jefferson Area at 5:00 p.m.
