Volleyball Game Preview: Highlands Christian Knights vs. Deerfield Beach Bucks

The Highlands Christian Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Deerfield Beach Bucks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Highlands Christian came up short against Pine Crest on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Highlands Christian was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-16, 25-20.

Despite the defeat, Highlands Christian had strong showings from Henry De Andrade, who had four digs and four aces, and Joshua Oliveira, who had five kills, four digs, and one block. Oliveira is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last five games he's played.

Meanwhile, Deerfield Beach lost 3-0 to Pine Crest on Thursday.

While Deerfield Beach was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Pine Crest's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-18, 26-24.

Highlands Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Deerfield Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Highlands Christian came up short against Deerfield Beach in their previous meeting back in March, falling 3-1. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
