Basketball Recap: Saniya Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Duluth over Brookwood

Duluth lost against Brookwood back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Duluth Wildcats took a 55-41 bruising from the Brookwood Broncos.

Duluth's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Saniya Johnson, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 11 points in addition to six boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nilah Jones, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 10 points and six boards.

Duluth's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Brookwood, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-5.

Duluth will head out to square off against Berkmar at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Duluth is facing Berkmar at the right time seeing as Berkmar is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Brookwood, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Peachtree Ridge at 5:30 p.m. Brookwood will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Peachtree Ridge will have lost six straight heading into Friday's match.
