Soccer Game Preview: Ysleta vs. Riverside

The Ysleta Indians will face off against the Riverside Rangers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ysleta's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Ysleta's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged San Elizario out 1-0. Daniel Torres had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Indians.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Riverside, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Fabens by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Rangers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won seven in a row.

Ysleta is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those six contests. As for Riverside, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4.

Ysleta skirted past Riverside 2-1 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Ysleta repeat their success, or does Riverside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
