Baseball Recap: Herbert Hoover Gets the Win

Herbert Hoover won the last time they faced Lincoln County and things went their way on Saturday too. The Huskies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers, sneaking past 3-1.

Grant Gardner looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Peyton Grigsby was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Herbert Hoover hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln County struck out eight times.

Herbert Hoover's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Lincoln County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-8.

Looking ahead, Herbert Hoover will venture away from home to square off against Nicholas County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grizzlies have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season. As for Lincoln County, they will host Nitro at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
