Preview: Toll Gate Titans vs. Lincoln School Lynx
Toll Gate is 5-0 against Lincoln School since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Toll Gate Titans will head out on the road to square off against the Lincoln School Lynx at 4:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (Toll Gate is ranked 17th, while Lincoln School is ranked 15th).
Toll Gate had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Central Falls by a score of 37-28.
Meanwhile, Lincoln School didn't have too much trouble with Pilgrim at home on Friday as they won 42-24. 42 seems to be a good number for Lincoln School as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Lincoln School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sarah Berube led the charge by scoring 21 points along with three steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Berube posted two or more blocks. Reign Whiteing was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four blocks and two steals.
Toll Gate pushed their record up to 7-4 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Lincoln School, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
Toll Gate beat Lincoln School 47-36 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Toll Gate since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
