Football Recap: East Central's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

East Central came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Lawrence North Wildcats, falling 32-7. The loss put an end to the Trojans' undefeated start to the season.

East Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Mitchell Karaus.

Lawrence North's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Izayveon Moore led the charge by rushing for 205 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries. That's the most rushing yards Moore has posted since back in October of 2024. Another passer making a difference was Darian Prather, who threw for 178 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes.

Having lost for the first time this season, East Central fell to 2-1. As for Lawrence North, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

East Central and Lawrence North should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Trojans (ranked 16th) will meet Franklin County (ranked 107th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lawrence North will challenge North Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (4 vs. 73).
