Football Recap: Liberty Lions vs. Higley Knights
With a playoff game on the line, Liberty rose to the challenge on Friday. They breezed by the Higley Knights to the tune of 64-26. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by 22 points or more this season.
Liberty got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hayden Fletcher out in front who threw for 239 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes. Jayden Sanchez also helped out as he racked up 120 rushing yards.
Liberty was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 343 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
Higley's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gunner Fagrell, who threw for 178 yards and two touchdowns, and Gatling Drake Walton, who picked up 65 receiving yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance also gave Walton a new career-high in rushing yards (seven).
