Softball Preview: Sterling Tigers vs. University Bulldogs
Sterling is 1-9 against University since September of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Sterling Tigers will host the University Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Sterling took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 16-4 margin over Holyoke. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.
Tatym Dempcy made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Dempcy was even better at the plate, going 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and a triple.

Everything went their way against Limon on Saturday as University made off with a 15-1 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bulldogs with their most commanding win of the season.
Jocelyn Chacon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ellie Baca, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was Emma Zacheis, who went 2-for-2 with two RBI and a double.
