Basketball Recap: Andy Pino Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat To'hajiilee

Alamo Navajo won the last time they faced To'hajiilee and things went their way on Tuesday too. Everything went the Alamo Navajo Cougars' way against the To'hajiilee Warriors as the Alamo Navajo Cougars made off with a 79-53 win. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 26 points or more this season.

Alamo Navajo got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Andy Pino out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 20 boards. The dominant performance gave Pino a new career-high in rebounds. Zephaniah Guerro was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 22 rebounds.

Alamo Navajo has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for To'hajiilee, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Alamo Navajo will venture away from home to square off against Rehoboth Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Alamo Navajo knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Rehoboth Christian likes a good challenge. As for To'hajiilee, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northwest at 2:30 p.m. on January 25th.
