Volleyball Recap: Rouse's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Rouse unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cedar Park Timberwolves, falling 3-0. If the Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Timberwolves when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Rouse ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19, 25-19.

Tatum Taylor paced Rouse's offense, picking up five kills. Taylor got some help from Isla Ornelas and her seven assists. Avery Ralston controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Anna Kurz was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 16 digs and two assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Rouse's defeat dropped their record down to 22-16. As for Cedar Park, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-12.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Rouse is set to face off against their familiar foe Liberty Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Cedar Park will square off against rival Lockhart at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
