Recap: Edmond Santa Fe Wolves vs. Enid Plainsmen
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Edmond Santa Fe Wolves had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past Enid 41-12 at home. Considering Edmond Santa Fe has won four matchups by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading Edmond Santa Fe to victory were Daniel Newton and Demarius Robinson. Newton rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, while Robinson rushed for 180 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Newton really tore up the turf during one magnificent 76-yard run.
Edmond Santa Fe's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 6.5 times. The heavy lifting was done by Jaelin Battle and Tommy Hand who racked up 4.5 sacks between them.
The victory makes it two in a row for Edmond Santa Fe and bumps their season record up to 7-3. As for Enid, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Edmond Santa Fe will take on Jenks at TBD on Friday. Jenks is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Enid does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
