Easton climbs into top 5 to challenge New Jersey dominance.
New Jersey schools have dominated the top five of the MaxPreps Northeast Region Football Computer rankings all season, but this week a Pennsylvania school moved into the mix.
Easton won its first two postseason games, including a 28-0 win over Freedom (Bethlehem, Pa.) last week, to move up to No. 3 in the rankings. Easton is less than half a rankings point behind No. 2 Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.). Easton faces Parkland this week in the round of 16. Parkland also made a move, going from No. 20 to No. 15.
St. Joseph's Prep (Philadelphia), which could face Easton next week if both teams win, moved into the top 10, jumping from No. 11 to No. 8.
