Baseball Game Preview: Penns Valley Area Rams vs. Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers

Penns Valley Area managed to slip by Bellwood-Antis the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Rams lost 12-6 to the Blue Devils on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by exactly six runs.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Hollidaysburg sidestepped Clearfield for an 8-7 victory. That's two games straight that the Golden Tigers have won by just one run.

The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Hollidaysburg got a big performance out of Josh Banks, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Jay Albarano was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Hollidaysburg pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Penns Valley Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
