Baseball Recap: WISH Academy Finds Playoff Glory Versus Huntington Park

WISH Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Huntington Park Spartans 8-2 on Saturday. The Owls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Oliver Horton, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Danilo Granados was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

WISH Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in three consecutive games.

WISH Academy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Huntington Park, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.

Coming up, WISH Academy will take on Jefferson at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Owls will need to watch out since the Democrats have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups. Huntington Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
