Baseball Recap: McCann Tech Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lee on Monday, McCann Tech came back down to earth. The Hornets took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mount Greylock Regional Mounties on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Dylan Turner was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of McCann Tech's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Hayden Barrett, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

McCann Tech's record now sits at 9-6. As for Mount Greylock Regional, the win snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 6-12 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McCann Tech will face off against Chicopee Comp at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mount Greylock Regional, they will take on South Hadley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
