There's no place like home for Wilkes Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Elkin Buckin' Elks 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since March 12, 2024.

Dawson Krenz was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Drake Staley, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
