Recap: Port Jervis Raiders vs. Monticello Panthers
The Port Jervis Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 36-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monticello. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Port Jervis in their matchups with Monticello: they've now lost four in a row.
Amiah Neails was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Hutchins, who scored seven points.
Port Jervis bumped their record down to 0-1 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Monticello, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Port Jervis will face off against Fallsburg at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fallsburg is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Monticello, they will head out on the road to face off against Valley Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Valley Central is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
