Volleyball Game Preview: Wind River Cougars vs. Kemmerer Rangers

For the first time this season, Wind River will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kemmerer Rangers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Wind River is looking for their season's first victory.

It was a proper cat-fight when Wind River challenged Hot Springs County on Saturday. The Cougars took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bobcats.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Kemmerer suffered their biggest defeat since August 30th on Tuesday. They came up short against Lyman, falling 3-0.

While Kemmerer was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Lyman's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-20, 25-21.

Wind River will have to contain Ashlyn Riding as she made an impact in Kemmerer's last game. She had 13 digs. Riding is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Wind River's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Kemmerer, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-22.

Wind River might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Kemmerer in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
