Softball Recap: Vermillion Tanagers vs. Yankton Bucks/Gazelles        
        
		
            
 Vermillion lost against Yankton back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Monday. The Vermillion Tanagers fell just short of the Yankton Bucks/Gazelles by a score of  10-9.
  Madigan Wallin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jenaya Clevelandc, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-4.
 On Yankton's side,  Daylee Hughes looked comfortable as she  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit.
 At the plate, Yankton got a  massive  performance out of  Emma Eichacker, who  went 2-for-3 with a  home run, two  stolen bases,  and two  RBI.  Payton Moser was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing four bases while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 Vermillion's defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 9-3. As for Yankton, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five games,  which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record  this season.
 Vermillion will be playing in front of their home fans against Madison at 5:30  p.m.  on Saturday. Vermillion will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak  alive. As for Yankton, they will head out on the road to  square off against  O'Gorman at 2:00  p.m.  on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as O'Gorman comes in on four and Yankton on three.
