Soccer Game Preview: Woodmont vs. J.L. Mann

Woodmont is 1-9 against J.L. Mann since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m.

Woodmont is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Easley.

Meanwhile, J.L. Mann put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Greenville. Given J.L. Mann's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked second, while Greenville are ranked 39th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

J.L. Mann's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three games. As for Woodmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Woodmont suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to J.L. Mann in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
