Baseball Recap: Satsuma Comes Up Short

Satsuma was the 7-2 winner over St. Michael Catholic when they last played one another on Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Gators took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals on Thursday.

Cooper Crenshaw was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Satsuma is 10-2 when Crenshaw posts two or more runs, but 7-9 otherwise. Grant McElroy was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Satsuma dropped their record down to 17-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for St. Michael Catholic, their record is now 16-10.

Looking ahead, Satsuma will square off against St. Luke's Episcopal at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Gators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. St. Michael Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
