1A West (8 Man) Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances across Friday and Saturday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Angel Hipolito Crosses Big Stat Threshold

On Saturday, Virginia City got the W thanks in part to Angel Hipolito playing the best football he has all season. Hipolito rushed for 333 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 2.2 rushing touchdowns per game. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2023.

Unfortunately for Mineral County, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Hipolito. Hipolito rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown the last time he and the Serpents duked it out back in September of 2023.

Reeves Made His Presence Known in Mineral County's 48-27 Defeat

Chase Reeves posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Saturday. He rushed for 146 yards on only 11 carries, and also threw for 108 yards and three touchdowns. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season.

Reeves must have Virginia City's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. When Reeves last faced the Muckers back in September of 2023, he rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 117 yards on five of 24 attempts.

Andrew Stinson Delivers Best Performance of Season

Sadly, Andrew Stinson posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Mineral County over Virginia City on Saturday. Stinson picked up 95 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

This season, Stinson has caught 9 touchdowns while averaging 82.3 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he was only averaging 0.83 receiving yards per game.

Johnson Posts Huge Game in 28-12 Victory

Owyhee's seven-game losing streak dating back to last season is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Noah Johnson. Johnson did his part (and then some), rushing for 82 yards on only five carries, while also picking up 39 receiving yards for the 'W'.

Johnson and Owyhee will square off against Wells at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Johnson will face off against Cesar Berumen, the Leopards' star WR. With so much talent on the field, fans are surely in for an exciting game. The only thing left to see is who brings home the W.
