Softball Recap: Cottonwood Colts vs. Jordan Beetdiggers
Cottonwood's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 win over the Jordan Beetdiggers. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Colts' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Gretta Lewis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned (and five unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Tialer Mounts was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, five runs, and one double. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Breeya Busey, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Cottonwood's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8. As for Jordan, their defeat was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14.
Coincidentally, Cottonwood and Jordan will both be playing Park City the next time they take the field. The Beetdiggers will host the Miners at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Colts will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
