Baseball Recap: Anthem Prep Takes a Loss

Anthem Prep suffered their closest defeat since March 27, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Desert Heights Prep Yote by a score of 8-6. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yote apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Tate Daniels was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Daniels was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Daniels wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jaxon MacHugh, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Jovan Durickovic was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Anthem Prep's record is now 0-2. As for Desert Heights Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coincidentally, Anthem Prep and Desert Heights Prep will both be playing Salome the next time they take the field. Anthem Prep will host Salome at 3:00 p.m. on March 17th, while Desert Heights Prep will host them at 3:30 p.m. on March 25th.
