Volleyball Recap: Mount Pleasant Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Mount Pleasant took on Carson on Monday. The Tigers came up short against the Cougars, falling 3-0. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Cougars when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-8, 25-12.

Carson can attribute much of their success to Alana Herring, who had nine digs and five assists. Those five assists gave Herring a new career-high. Tasean Perkins also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Mount Pleasant's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Carson, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Mount Pleasant didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against South Rowan on the 19th. As for Carson, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against North Stanly on the 20th.
