Baseball Recap: Shelby County's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Shelby County can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Anderson County Bearcats a 5-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Rockets: when they faced off against the Bearcats last Tuesday, they had to take a 1-0 defeat.

The result came thanks to Foster Whisman's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Isaac Voight was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Stewart, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Shelby County's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Anderson County, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Shelby County will face off against Henry County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Anderson County, they will square off against Bullitt Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
