Basketball Recap: Cahokia Comes Up Short

Cahokia extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 16 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-2. They took a blow against the Collinsville Kahoks, falling 47-14. The Comanches lost against the Kahoks in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 88-4 score last time.

As for Collinsville, their record is now 1-0. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since January 28th (when they won 49-14).

Among those leading the charge was Ashley Janini, who posted 15 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Those three steals gave her a new career-high. Dariana Morris was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.

Looking ahead, Cahokia will square off against McKinley Classical Leadership Academy at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Collinsville, they will face off against Mt. Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
