Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Northwest Area couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Troy Trojans by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Rangers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Northwest Area saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Ruckle, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Northwest Area's defeat dropped their record down to 17-3. As for Troy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Northwest Area nor Troy have any future games scheduled.
