Basketball Recap: Banff Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 17-17 at halftime, Banff was not quite Family Christian's equal in the second half on Thursday. They fell 51-41 to the Family Christian Warriors. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-46 back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Banff still got an impressive performance from Jayden Oriedetu, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 boards. Oriedetu is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Issac Sumpter was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 13 boards.

Banff dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Family Christian, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-10.

Banff has already played their next contest (against Texas Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Family Christian has also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against Baytown Christian.
