Baseball Recap: Wartburg Central Takes a Loss

If Wartburg Central was riding high fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Sunbright last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs lost 11-3 to the Carter Green Hornets on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Green Hornets: they've now lost four in a row.

Wartburg Central's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Carter, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-5.

Looking ahead, Wartburg Central will look to defend their home field on Monday against Midway at 5:30 p.m. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Green Wave have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Carter, they will take on Cocke County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
