Baseball Recap: Mariner Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Mariner, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Fort Myers Green Wave on Thursday. This was payback for the Tritons, who suffered a 6-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Ryan Kotarski was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Kelan Jamison was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Mariner's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Fort Myers, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-5 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mariner will host Estero at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort Myers, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. Riverdale is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
