Volleyball Recap: Douglas Eagles vs. Fort Payne Wildcats
Douglas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Fort Payne Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on September 11th.
Fort Payne's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carley Cash, who had 11 digs and three aces. What's more, Cash posted three assists, the most she's had over her last four matches.
Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Fort Payne, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 21 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-9 record this season.
Douglas does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fort Payne, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Boaz on the 30th.
