Baseball Recap: Hart County Takes a Loss

Hart County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 9-6 to the Edmonson County Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 back in April.

Bryson Huff made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Hart County is 7-3 when Huff posts two or more runs, but 5-22 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Austin Martin, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Hart County's loss dropped their record down to 12-25. As for Edmonson County, they pushed their record up to 13-17 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Hart County will head out to challenge Allen County-Scottsville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Edmonson County, they will venture away from home to square off against Monroe County at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
