Baseball Recap: Carter Victorious

Carter hadn't beaten Seymour on the road since April 13, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. Carter came out on top against Seymour by a score of 6-3. For the Green Hornets, this counts as revenge for the 17-8 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Ethan Lane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kingston Griph was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Luke Burnette also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Carter's record is now 10-1. As for Seymour, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-6.

Carter will have a chance to go back-to-back against Seymour: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
