Basketball Recap: Flanagan/Woodland Beats Fieldcrest for Their Second Straight Win

Fieldcrest came into Saturday's game looking for another win against Flanagan/Woodland, but Ella Derossett wouldn't allow it. In a tight match that could have gone either way, the Flanagan/Woodland Falcons made off with a 64-63 victory over the Fieldcrest Knights thanks in part to Derossett, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Flanagan/Woodland's points.

Another player making a difference was Aubry Edens, who posted 15 points and eight rebounds. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

The win made it two in a row for Flanagan/Woodland and bumps their season record up to 7-11. As for Fieldcrest, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.

Flanagan/Woodland will face off against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Fieldcrest has already played their next contest (against Lexington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
