Baseball Recap: Churchill Lancers vs. Summit Storm
Churchill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Summit Storm. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Storm apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2017.
Donovan Jackson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.
At the plate, Churchill saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Mikel, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Churchill now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Summit, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
