Basketball Recap: Coventry Christian Takes a Loss

Coventry Christian and Linville Hill squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Coventry Christian had to settle for second. They lost 51-31 to the Linville Hill Warriors. The matchup marked Coventry Christian's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Linville Hill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Drew Tibbins, who posted 14 points and six assists. That's the most points Tibbins has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Stephen Smucker, who earned ten points.

Coventry Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Linville Hill, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 23-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coventry Christian will host Mount Calvary Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Calvary Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season. As for Linville Hill, they will welcome Greenwood at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Linville Hill also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 67.8 points per game.
