Volleyball Game Preview: Parkway South Patriots vs. Lafayette Lancers

Parkway South hasn't had much luck against Lafayette recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Patriots will take on the Lancers at 5:30 p.m.

Parkway South is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Missouri's top teams: Mehlville, who was ranked 14th at the time (Parkway South was ranked 15th). The Patriots fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Parkway South started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 20-25, 25-18, 26-24, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Parkway South got top-tier performance from Jack McClanahan, who had 23 digs and two assists.

Meanwhile, Lafayette had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Mustangs as they made off with a 3-0 win.

While Lafayette won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 29-27, 25-19.

Parkway South's defeat dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Lafayette, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
