Baseball Recap: Snow Canyon Takes Down Uintah in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Snow Canyon had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Uintah Utes. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Utes: they've now won six in a row.

Trey Vaughn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Trent Chris looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in six consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Dewy Gibb was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Snow Canyon's record now sits at 20-6. As for Uintah, they now have a losing record of 14-15.

As of now, neither Snow Canyon nor the Utes have any future games scheduled.
