Basketball Game Preview: Highland Prep Honey Badgers vs. Tonopah Valley Phoenix

The Highland Prep Honey Badgers will take on the Tonopah Valley Phoenix in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Highland Prep has four straight victories, Tonopah Valley has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Monday, Highland Prep earned a 66-55 win over Bourgade Catholic.

Meanwhile, Tonopah Valley took a blow against Copper Canyon on Thursday, falling 68-27.

Tonopah Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Highland Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Highland Prep against Tonopah Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 90-24 victory. Will Highland Prep repeat their success, or does Tonopah Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
