Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elkins). They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday. With that victory, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Brayden Biller made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
In other batting news, Elkins got a massive performance out of Trent Stone, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Stone a new career-high. Braden Cooper was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.
